09 release dates?
Just one silver, "Bright Silver Metallic". Not sure yet about an Orange color option, there may be one or two more colors added to that list as final colors are being determined in the next few weeks.

Seriously, matching the engine, tranny and vehicle can affect milage.. by a LOT
my girlfriend's car (2005 Maxda Tribute) you can tell somethings 'off' between the engine and tranny ratios.... they all work fine, and nothing is 'wrong' but if u want to MOVE IT the engine doesn't hit the power until about 3-4 grand, while the tranny keeps the damn thing at like 2 grand... its NOT an american engine, it can't do that! let it rev i say!
the V6 4x4 RAV 4 gets like 28 MPG highway, only 1 less than the 4cyl, and has over 100 more HP!
the BMW X5 4.4 gets better milage (overall) than the 3.0L... bigger engine AND better MPG?! how do you lose?!
if the 3.8L is working too hard to move a JK (Specifically the 4-door), maybe a 4.0 or 4.2L would IMPROVE overall milage (assuming the person doesn't mash it off the line all the time)
I see the price of fuel slowing sales, but they could at least offer the option of another engine, its not like chysler doesn't have any laying around...
Maybe I can find a newer GM 5.3L 320HP and drop in it
zoom zoom zoom! lol
i agree that a more powerful engine could get better gas milage. This being a newly redesigned vehicle, it should have a motor that matches it better. No light vehicle should be getting less than 20 mpg these days. It bugs me that jeeps get about 15 and a 500hp corvette gets 28+. Also, take the H3, the V8 gets comparible gas milage and maybe better when normal people are mashing on the I5's gas all the time. I think Jeep could really make huge improvments here.
Mildly related topic, in the 80's, my mom drove a 78' Buick Regal with a 5.0L V8, and I drove an identical 78' Buick Regal with a V6. Her car consistently got 3-5MPG better than mine. I can only speculate that the engine in her car worked less and consumed less fuel than the V6 in mine.
