Wow, this was as I expected and why Chrysler issued a RRT (rapid response transmission) to all dealers. Just a bit of advice. They should be able to know from the last 8 digits of your VIN what RRTs apply. My JKU VIN did not have the code for the leak since only later models had that problem. I did however have another RRT for a computer flash update. My dealer didn't tell me... I had to ask them to check my VIN for any RRTs. That's how I knew. Keep this in mind any time you go for service. These RRTs get updated regularly.

I have a 2012 and realized that some glue was oozing when I took off the freedom tops in like 110 degrees.... Also I just realized that drive through car washes really spray the crap out of my jeep's top with high pressure.... So those with leaky tops, do u remove ur top in hot conditions like 90 degree temperatures in direct sunlight or use drive through car washes? This could be the reason

I have always (4 month old JKU) taken mine to the car wash. When I take the front part of the top off I have noticed there is some black adhesive on the larger passenger piece right where it meets the center of the larger top.

So far, no leak.

Ohh hmm that gets me nervous. I think I'm going to wash mine myself unless someone who has been going through the car wash for years never had a leak. But I must say I'm glad I'm not the only one with that black adhesive on my top. But I guess I can't complain too much since we don't get rain in san antonio anymore

My 2011 Leaks bad. I took and got it washed and was touching things up and pulled the passenger floor mat and there was a lake under it. Bought it last Dec. 2010. Had the water issue then, thought it might have been from all the rain in Dec when we bought it. The woman drives it as her DD, as well as it never rains in southern California ...lol.. Well low and behold still holding water... not to mention the smell inside isn't the best.
The next time I go to the dealership I have to ask about the repair or service Bulletin.

I have a 2011 Sarah Unlimited. The previous owner had returned the jeep 3 times for water leaks. I spoke with the dealership today that had the jeep prior to Chrysler buying it back from its previous owner. I bought the jeep from a local dealer and they had told me about how they purchased the jeep back from Chrysler and the passenger door leaked. They assured me that all the water issues had been taken care of and were guaranteed. So today I noticed that the drivers floor board was wet. Long story short this will be the 5th time in in little over a year that this jeep will be returned for water leaks. Hopefully this will be taken care of. Kinda of makes ya sick to pay all that money for a vehicle that retains water.

Bought my 2011 in June and first time it rained it leaked on passenger side filling up the floorboard.. Took it to dealer and they found the leak and temporarily shimmed out the door seal until the oversized seal came in no problems since.
