It's all relative. Versus conventional expectations (based on years driving a JK with a minivan motor), the 2012 is MUCH more impressive than a P-car, an AMG, or a crotch-rocket.

Actually, according the Motor Trend a Nissan Versa does 0-60 in 10.2 seconds. That same publication says that a 2-dr auto 2012 JK does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. Even the JK with the mini-van engine is faster than a Versa.

I've had cars which were much faster, but I've never had anything that pulled so hard all the way to redline. I'm sold on the VVT.
If they put a turbo on it and stuck it in a lightweight sports car chassis it would be amazing. Maybe bring back the Talon ...

Just sorry to say that most of these new jeeps seem to have reving power. Don't get me wrong It's great with the HP and such.
I wish they would go more toward a stock Rubi crawler in the True Wrangler 2 door with super crawling ability like a willys, and keep the tradition alive with awesome 4 wd durability.
Put the heated and cooled seats, with flat screens and all the luxury crap in the 4 door. That way my grandpa won't be rolling in his grave of how jeep is turning out like a FJ or a darn hummer wanna be.
Sorry but I think some things should stay like they were originally created to be.
