2012 Jeep order status
It is pretty silly how everything you hear can be both confirmed and denied by what others are dealing with. I no longer believe the "just in time" manufacturing is the case. They do seem to lump together similar orders. Perhaps it saves them time with the high demand, but for anyone ordering, I'd plan on 3 months and feel lucky if it arrived in 6-8 weeks. My order will be 11-1/2 weeks.
But I'll say it again... ignore VOTS. She is a total tease. You'll be scheduled for production until a day before you ship. By then, you'll already have a delivery date. Your second e-mail should indicate you'll be shipped about 2 weeks later.
I'm now having Northridge put in my suspension, front drive shaft, and aFe y-pipe exhaust. They are terrific and giving me a great deal on the install. This gives me some leeway to get all my other stuff done (bumpers, tire carrier, winch, lights, air, etc. the weekend of the 17th) and should help me turn everything around within 3 days. Fingers crossed. But I plan to pick my new Jeep up on the 16th and be ready to hit any trails by the time I leave Northridge on the 19th.
Of course, being ABLE to hit the trails and then finding additional time to do so shortly thereafter will be problematic to my wife and kid after all this, but at least I can take solace in the fact that so long as Armageddon doesn't happen before the 19th, I should be able to enjoy the new Jeep after the 19th.

While we are waiting. Can anyone tell me if the roll bar grab handles com stock in the Rubicon. I test drove a JKU Rubicon and it had four black roll bar grab handles in plastic bags in the glove box. I don't want to order any ahead of time if they come from the factory.

Hope your glove box includes it, but when it doesn't, shop around a bit. Several options to match you style and/or colors.
