2012 Jeep order status
Could no longer do the searching for the needle in the haystack (2012 JKU Rubi Deep Cherry or Natural Green, 6 speed, black hard top, connectivity group, max tow) so I placed the order on 11-18-11. I started my hunt at the end of Sept. and was sure I would be able to find one on the lot or through a dealer trade within a reasonable distance by Thanksgiving but no luck. There were a ton of fully loaded autos or the ones with the options I wanted were not the right color or 800+ miles away even then there were only a couple. The only thing keeping me from ordering a month and a half ago was the restriction that showed up when ordering the 23R (6-speed pkg.) and is still there on my POC right now. Its seems others have placed orders as late as the end of Oct. and have already taken delivery so WTF is up with the restriction? Maybe its a CA thing who knows..haha. The fleet manager I've been dealing with is as puzzled as I am but checks the status every day and sends me an e-mail updating me (I'm in BG status now what ever that means, I think its past editing stage.) So with the holiday shut down I'm hoping to have it by Feb
so its just sit and wait and compile my wish list and save my pennies. I don't mean to sound bitter I just can't wait to become a member of the Jeeping community.

I decided to call and check on the status of my Jeep yesterday morning to find out if it was still scheduled to ship yesterday. The first person I spoke with told me it was in paint. I mentioned that it was in paint when I called on Friday. She tried to tell me that it can be in paint for up to 2 weeks and to call back after 2 weeks. Chrysler would have a lot of vehicles stacking up if that was the case.
I decided to try again in the afternoon. The second person gave me the same status - in paint. I pointed out that it was in paint when I called on Friday and had an estimated ship date of 11/28. She then noticed that it had been in paint status since 11/23 (last Wednesday) and knew something wasn't right. She said she had another system she could manually check for me if I had a few minutes (of course I do, what else do I have to do until my Jeep arrives
). She came back on the phone and said the Jeep had been OK'ed and was on the ramp waiting to be shipped. I hope it gets picked up soon.
I'm thinking of driving the 1.5 hours down to my dealer and setting up a tent to watch for it.

As a follow up to my previous post - this morning I noticed that I could pull up my window sticker online, so I thought I would go ahead and call my dealer and confirm the delivery date and let him know that there was no need to rush with the prep because I can't come down to pick up the Jeep until Saturday. When I spoke with him he told me that my Jeep was in fact ready for shipment, but was scheduled to be delivered at the dealership next Monday. I asked him if there was any chance it would come in sooner and he said that once it is scheduled, it would come on that day unless something causes a further delay.
I told him I was surprised it would take so long knowing that it was a 20 minute drive from the factory to the dealer. He told me he doesn't understand the scheduling and shipping either. He said he had another order that was entered on the same day that was also finished this weekend and it came in yesterday. Just my luck. Mine is the one that wouldn't fit on the truck
.
If it arrives on Monday, that means I will have to wait until the following Saturday to pick it up. Now that I have no need to check the status every 5 minutes, I don't know what I am going to do to pass the time.

Mine arrived yesterday and picked it up tonight. Exactly 28 days from the day I ordered it. Pics to follow. MODS start tomorrow.

Still on the LOT.

Mine showed up at the dealer yesterday. Picked it up, now waiting for the weekend to put a protective layer of dirt on the paint.
just under two months from order to delivery for me.
