2012 Jeep wrangler motor big change
First of all, having worked at dealerships for a few years now, techs have zero clue whats coming out. We, as a forum, would know before 98% of techs or anyone at a dealership would know. And as to the 4.0, Chrysler already has a 4,0 out. Its in the mini van. SOHC 24 valve and about 250 hp.

In 2013 I heard the wranglers going to have 500 horse power 4 cylinders that run on water and have zero emissions. They will have a life time warranty that's transferable to your grand kids. I heard this from a janitor at my dealership. It's legit, trust me I'm a doctor.

I own a 4-door Jeep Wrangler JK unlimited and love driving it, but would recommend some changes. Does anybody know if in the 2012 Wrangler's they're going to offer as an option a backup camera? And how about a redesign on the ridiculous windshield sun visors. Also a redesign on the electric window button that right now is a one-touch and let go for the window to go down, but you have to hold the button for the window to go up! They also need to find a way to light up the lower area down by the front panel gauges.
I thought that was already include in the 2011 model if you got the fancy touch-screen DVD stereo? I test drove a few but I cant remember... it might have been the Cherokee that had it.
I heard that in 2012 they will offer the same V8 they just came out with for the 2011 Cherokee.
I test drove it and it was not impressive at all. It didn't feel like it had the torque that our current 2011 Wrangler engine has. Yes I understand that torque is more a function of the gear ratios, but I'm just sayin...

for the time lenght i keep my vehicles , I could care less about new engines, diesel promises etc...
im sure the majority changes jeeps in 5 years tops. so i will let chrysler do what ever the hell they want...
if they have a diesel or something else later ,, I will still buy it anyways ,cause im a jeep junkie

500miles on a tank of gas...
that 3.6L pentistar is going to have options (on other applications of course) to have a single or a 3.0L dual turbo.
I also read it is going to be equipped for shutting off half of the engine for fuel economy (3cyl operation) pretty niffty... im not worried about trail breakdowns on a brand new car, you shouldnt be either...
If you want a dedicated trail rider build one, if you want a daily driver that can do both this looks like a nice engine upgrade. I am NOT digging the new interrior or any of the stupid electronics inside, but its what the american (and chinese which is now driving the auto industry) market wants.
