Default 2012 JK Brake Question

I got my 2012 JKUS in Aug 2011. I have 5000 miles on it. Whenever I reverse my brakes squeek and make whiney noise. Is this normal? Should I do something about it?

How often do you use your E brake?

Try using your e brake once in awhile. I believe it helps to adjust them.

I use my e-brake every time I park. Haven't heard any noises when reversing yet. I only have about 300 miles on my 12 so far though. I wouldn't say the noise is normal necessarily.

Anybody know what material the brake pad's material is?

I had a Suzuki Grand Vitara several years back that had organic pads from new. They were horrible. Dusted bad and were practically sponges they absorbed so much moisture. Squealed if you nailed it hard, used in reverse, if it was at all wet out they had this horrible DROOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN, end of each braking incident was a droan...

...all went away by switching to mid range semi-metallics.
