I agree with the previous sentiment though...most vehicle fires I've seen are due to lack of maintenance/leaking fluids and originate in the engine compartment.
I always get on my fiancee for leaving her cell charger plugged into the Jeep over night even though it's not outputting any energy, the outlet has a constant source of power except it's not enough to actually charge the cell phone.

I've come across only a few vehicle fires which were caused by electrical devices plugged into the outlets, although most fires I've dealt with were manufacturer faults (besides intentionally set fires)
