Default 2012 JKU Rubicon Value

Thinking of trading in our 2012 JKU Wrangler with 52,000 for a new Jeep, wondering what its worth?

2012 4 door Rubicon, 3.6 with auto, 4.10 gears, hard and soft top (Still in the Box never used), Heated seats, block heater, 285 Duratracs, 2 inch lift, Full Underbody Skid plates, Winch and winch bumper. Very good shape, 53,000 ,miles. Only off roaded with it about 4 times, otherwise it was driven by my wife to work and back.

Not listing this for sale or anything just wondering a ball park value for when I go to the dealer to talk trade in.

Oh never off-road, sounds better.

For trade I would start at 20 flat no bs, if they flinch, walk.

The next day they will be calling you. If you're planning on putting another 10 down they won't let you leave without a 16.

Come to think of it being a Rubi start at 25.

Edit, looked up dealers selling 2011-2013 jku, not rubicon.

3.8 was going for 24 3.6 was going 27 I believe.
No reason you can't get 20+.

What is the reason to trade for basically the same vehicle? Next year the JL comes out in a completely new package.

Blackbook trade-in for my 2 door 2012 rubi is $25-30k CAD, so I'm sure a 4 door could do well in a similar price range.

It is always tough recommending an initial model year any vehicle. I'm sure the JL will go through lots of testing as it is a flagship model but you're not going to get all the kinks out without the consumers doing their best to break them.

I would wait and drive the JL back to back with a new JK and buy the one you like better. They'll be making them side by side for awhile after the JL is introduced.

I also wouldn't worry about the 1st model year. There are a bunch of 07 JK's running around that have been just fine. There are a few with some really high miles on them, too.

I recently went to dealership down here in south Florida. I have a '14 jku sport. 3.73. 35's 3.5 rock crawler lift 17 procomps. Winch. And Some other extras too. 15 k miles. Both tops. They offered me 23k they way it sits. Before I walked out. They wouldn't budge on the price for a Rubi. No they call me everyday to come back in . Will make the sweat it out little longer . Good luck

I JUST went through all of this BS with 2 of my cars. DON'T use KBB or any of those shat sites. They are all in bed with dealer associations to bend you over.

I was turned on to a site called car gurus. It gave me a value WAY over KBB as a selling price for my s2000 and my honda ridgeline. I put them up for sale and had every goon say well KBB says this. I said if you're looking to pay kbb our discussion can end here and not waste either of our time. I sold both vehicles in under a week cash for over kbb by a couple grand each.

Then I found my JKU for almost $5k under MSRP on there. Brand new with 20 miles on it. Granted I had to drive 5 hours but no dealer within 200 miles would even try to come close and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

It'll give you a fair trade in value as well. I will say trading is your worst possible outcome. I was in your shoes looking to trade in my vehicles. I would have left over $6500 on the table had I done that. It was so much money I was able to buy a brand new JKU as opposed to a used one beat to shat.
