Default 2012 Offer

Looking for some help guys....

I've been dealing with mostly internet sales guys and I had one offer me a 2012 4dr Sport with the only options being Maxtow package and the 23C package(leather steering wheel, bluetooth, etc.)

Window sticker= $27,420
Offered Price= $26,000
OTD= $28,607

What would be a fair counter offer? Is asking $27,000 OTD insulting? Trying to get a good deal obviously, but also am not looking to be an a$$...

TIA

Negotiating otd price is the worst way to buy any vehicle. Educate yourself on your states sales tax and registration fees. Then figure out invoice price on the exact jeep they want to sell you. Never use out the door price or monthly payments and your decision maker.

Sounds very reasonable to me. Not being an ass to ask anyway all they can do is say no. No harm no foul.

Have them print you out the sheet that shows the invoice pricing, FFP, and EPP pricing. For a 2012 now that the 2013's are out I would start around the EPP pricing and have a firm stance at nothing more than a $1,000 under invoice.

There is a difference between sticker price and invoice price....5% below sticker is probably pretty similar to 1% below invoice
