I remember when it was a confirmed rumor that the 2009 wrangler would get the penstar and the Diesel was coming to North America.

After that it was a confirmed rumor that the 2010 wrangler would get the penstar and the Diesel was coming to North America.

After that it was a confirmed rumor that the 2011 wrangler would get the penstar and the Diesel was coming to North America.

The penstar MAY be coming in 2012 but I would not hold my breath.

One thing to keep in mind is even though it makes only 202hp the 3.8 has proven to be pretty reliable and tough which is what we need in a jeep. Getting more horse power from a smaller motor may be fine in a light sports car but I wonder if that is a good idea in a 4500 pound vehicle with 500 pounds of aftermarket bolt-ons that is abused all over the rocks 50 miles from the closest road accessable to a tow truck.

 

This would be AWESOME but I am waiting for the 2019 4000 hp small jet engine that has stock 44s! How bout THAT as a rumor! Haha jk

I am still waiting on a 3.8 that doesnt die on me @ 39K (Side Story) But anyways this has been a rummor since the 08 models It will probably come out when they have the next major rediesign which is typicaly 7-10 years
