2012 Wrangler information thread
If you look on the last page of the pdf beside "trailer tow group" under the Rubicon/unlimited Rubicon column, it shows the trailer tow group "N/A". I'm not understanding why the Rubicon Unlimited is excluded from this package. Maybe "max tow" takes over here, but with no trailer sway control?
Holy mother of Jesus
You gotta' turn that puppy beyond 4K RPMs to hit peak torque??
See, this is why you don't take a car engine and stuff it in a 4x4. That's gonna' suck with a trailer hooked on.

Well, I do want to drive one to compare. The 3.6 hasn't been getting great reviews from the Durango and GC testing I've seen. "It doesn't feel like 280 horsepower" seems to be a common quote. But I do want to drive one and see if there's much difference.
I still think the biggest problem with the '11 3.8 auto. JKs is the throttle tuning. There is just HORRIBLE lag in these things. It's terrible. The engine itself probably isn't all that bad, if you could just tune it better.

I can't remember where I saw the dyno sheet of the 3.6 and even though its 260 at 4800 rpm. It's has 240 at 2000 rpm. It is a very flat torque line. That mated to 5 speed auto will do much better than what we have now in stock mode. At least in my opinion.
Seems like i kept reading in the wk2 forum on *********, that they didn't like the 5 speed shifting with the 3.6
I'm getting a 6 speed anyway but I hope they do some good tuning with the 2012 jk
I test drove a 3.6 wk2 and thought it had good power (4x2 base model) i got to get on it a little and away it scooted with a nice little growl.

just because it peaks at 4k, doesn't mean it brings the suck at the rest of the rpms. I don't know why everyone only looks at where it peaks
