Omar thanks for the note about the new Land Rover Defender coming out in a year or two. The DC100 concept is pretty good; I can't wait to see what the real thing looks like; probably time to dump the JK when the new Defender comes out.

I think the Wrangler is too much of an icon, a "halo vehicle" if you will, for Jeep to mess with. Jeep needs to gain market share, and curvy swoopy SUVs like this new Cherokee could do that for Jeep, in that it gives an alternative to the CRV or Rav4 or Subaru buyer.

I hate the idea of Jeep soiling the proud name of the cherokee on that POS. I do see a place for a lightweight smaller suv in their line up if they do it right. something like a suburu forester with more balls and a with a lot more emphasis on the utility. If i look back on the original compass concept renderings it was pretty cool. what they ended up with was junk obviously. I actually liked the original liberty. not for me but i thought it at least was a Jeep...(for older ladies) the nitro / liberty design is crap.

As a cherokee owner for 15 years before my wrangler i have been wondering what a modern embodyment would look like...this isnt what i had in mind. Did you see what they did to the pathfinder for godssake. looks like a friggan minivan. all is lost. take good care of your current rig
