Default 2015 bad news...

So I just got home from the dealership, talking to the sales guy and he said there are BIG changes coming for 2015... He didn't even get an order around for any yet because he's worried they will not sell.
Changes that he mentioned were new "streamlined" look more similar to the new style compass and other "jeeps" and the windshield wont even fold down. Also a change to the power steering similar to the others in the Jeep family run vs what is run now in Wranglers, not sure the difference there I am by far not a gear head. Last big change he mentioned was suspension was going to be MUCH softer and "road worthy" His last comment was he is sure Jeep is in for a bad year in2015 due to pissing off all the "purists" SOOOOO glad I bought mine this year, I know a 2014 unlimited isn't "pure" either but sure sounds much better than what's coming!!!

Nobody can order a 2015, becuase Chrysler isn't taking orders for a model year vehicle that doesn't exist.

I'd also be less inclined to think your salesman knows any more than the folks at Autoblog or industry experts that tend to leak information as it's available. We already know that 2016 is the likely model year for a new JK-like platform. Do some reading on Autoblog and here on the forum to catch up.

Rest assured every time a new Jeep platform is introduced, there will be pissed-off purists.

I kind of figured Fiat would screw with the Wrangler... :-(

I hope he was full of BS!! It wasn't a sales pitch from him I bought mine last Friday. Just passing it on because if he's even half way right they sound like ridiculous changes to make to a Wrangler! I haven't been reading to find out what's coming in the future, I was to busy reading up on what I wanted to buy now... I had got rid of my first jeep in 2004 and wow how things have even changed since I had my 2000.

From a friend in the industry who recently spoke with a Jeep engineer (JE):

When is the diesel engine is coming to the wrangler:

Jeep Engineer: "its already in there, the 2.8"

Me: "okay, yeah, but in America"

JE: "I don't see any reason they couldn't put it [the 3.0 vm in the grand Cherokee] in, I guess its just a business case."

Me: "soon?"

JE: "I haven't seen any plans for it.

When will the wrangler get independent suspension?

JE: "I haven't heard any rumors along those lines, I haven't seen any drawings that hint at it."

I do not know exactly where in the chain o command this engineer is. And while this doesn't exactly address your concerns, it shows that most of the rumors around the next Jeep, are just rumors.

I bought a 2007 Toyota Fj in may of 2006 it had been in the showroom since November of 2005 but not for sale, I remember watching and waiting for it to go on sale. So there very well may be 2015s available to dealers only

That's kind of why I posted it here, I know this place is flooded with people that know a TON more than me or even the local salesman!! Just wanted to see what anyone else has heard or knew.

I do not claim to know anything I'm a newbie to all of this but I am trying to learn slowly...

The 14' Just hit dealer floors about 3-4 months ago. dealers don't usually get access to orders on next MY's until about 1-2 months before the model hits dealer floors. this means (assuming the 14' and 15' will be released 1 year apart from each other) dealers will not be able to place an order for a 15' until maybe June of 2014 at the earliest.

While they may get info to whats up and coming before the general public, if a vehicle is getting a redesign, they would have had test mules out and someone would have spotted one.
