2door vs 4door mpg
Looking to pick up a new flame red rubi and noticed that on the jeep site it says that the 2 door gets 19mpg and the 4door gets 21. Is that right?
Does the four door get better mileage? I understand that the aerodynamic curl over the upper foil could be better on the added length of the 4door but it should be offset by the added weight.

The 2-door and the 4-door get virtually the same gas mileage. A stripped down 2-door might squeeze out a couple MPGs more than a loaded 4-door.

The last two fill ups were 15.9 and 16.57 MPG. I drive back and forth to work into Baltimore every day. Some stop and go traffic. I also tend to cruise at about 70 on the main drag from Annapolis to Baltimore. I am dreading the 35s that will soon be installed, but I also can't wait! Can't be any worse than my Toyota Tundra and 35s - that thing drained gas like it had a hole in the tank.

which absolutely make no sense to me since the 4 doors is 200-300 lb heavier . Studies show that adding 100lb in a car increase gas mileage by about 2 percent, also the 2dr being smaller in size, the drag is less as well which again should account for better efficiency.... I just don't get it, but Chysler's physics don't add up.

I think this is the best answer to the original question so far.

When could you EVER get a 2wd 2dr? Pre-CJ?
