Default Are 3.73 gears enough for 33" tires?

We are ordering a 2008 4door JK within the next month. Are the 3.73 gears on the Sahara enough for 33 or 35" tires? This JK will be more of a mudder than a rock climber. Debating between the Sahara and Rubicon and the gearing is a big factor for me.

I run 35's on my 410's and it is bearable. You lose your OD or 6th gear. My son has 33's on his 3.73's, its about the same. I will get gears some day but I have other priorities first.

I had 3:21's with 33" tires and I lost 6th gear, every time I turned around I had to downshift, gas mileage on the highway was 12-14 mpg...a little better in town...

Last month I put 4:88's in and I got 6th gear back, no more downshifting, it will accelerate in 6th gear going up a steady incline now...but, here's the great part...I haven't lost a thing for mpg...I am still getting 12-14 mpg...

Putting 4:88's in has been the best mod I have done yet...
