That's a good idea too. Did you have to make a cut in the bumper for that?....

didnt say you couldnt move it...the law indicates it must be in the CENTER of the two other brake lights...since its CALLED a Center HIGH Mount Brake Light - its easily interrupted and understood that it SHOULD be higher than the other brake lights.

the OP never asked if it had to be higher or lower...he asked about REMOVING it.

When I installed the OR-Fab Tire/Gerry Can Carrier I made a small bracket and installed 2 round LEDs for my 3rd brake light. It passed inspection here in Texas.

The LEDs shine thru the spokes of my spare wheel. They were originally Lug Nut Lights.

Did they have a reason for this or they just wanted to save you the work? Besides, MOST dealers don't about their own products/warranties let alone the law. As long as you have a third lite visible, you will be fine no matter where it is located. Just don't drive drunk or with drugs/guns in your jeep and you will not be hassled for it!

I have the same carrier and I am currently not running my third light. Since the OR Fab carrier swings independent of the tail gate, how did you run your wiring? I assume you had to use some extra wiring that connected into the stock 3rd light wires since the stock wires are way to short?

No dealership will put themselves in a position where they become liable for someone elses actions.
