Default 75' cj5

Have the chance to buy a CJ5 for $1500. Straight body no rust, engine was running last year, been parked as the owner moved out of state. Gonna see it n person next weekend. Question is, anyone have any experience with the 304? I know it aint no powerhouse but would it b worth to rebuild or scrap for something else?

That 304 is actually a pretty decent motor. It will have the same motor mounts as the 401. My dad had a '76 CJ5 with the 304, that thing went everywhere he wanted it to.

When I moved off to college he stole the motor and tranny out of my 78 Cherokee Chief (401 with a turbo 400).
