Damn you were lucky to find that small rock just in time!

I refused the skid bar today at the dealer. Service guy asked me why and I said I have a skid PLATE I'm not changing it for a bar. He just gave me a look like he totally agreed but couldn't say anything.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Can't think of any circumstances where it would be necessary.

I've been fighting the recall myself, rinsing the plate every now and again, but yesterday I hit a particulary nasty spot and the plate acted like a shovel scooping up about 5 lbs of grass and a little mud. I pulled into work this morning only to smell a horrible stench as the cat was cooking the trapped mixture. I think I'm going to do the bar. I prefer the idea of a plate but it's just too risky to keep it.

Why does this not affect 07-09? Don't think anything changed between those models and '10

i received my letter in the mail the other day, i don't understand the bar being better than a skid plate, seems like it would be easier to catch something..but what ever..

If you chase cows out in the field with your jeep, this would then be necessary.
