Default ac unit

have taken my jeep to the dealership for the second time in a month for being a pound on low on freon (sp). They have been telling me that they can't find were it is leaking from. So I guess the nest time I take it in I will take it there and tell them to keep it if they can't find were it is coming from. Any one have any advice or what I should do, my warranty is going to be up in 10,000 miles or 9 months.

Shouldn't be too dificult to find a leak. The two main items used for that are a halogen leak detector and a dye they can put into the system to be able to use an ultra violet light to find the leak. The leak detector is similar to a geiger counter. The closer you get to the leak, the faster it beeps. Of course the dye is rather self explanatory. Put the dye in the system, run it for a while to make sure it gets mixed in good and come behind it with an ultra violet light. So, from your description it takes about 15 days to lose a pound, right? There's no reason they cannot find a leak that big. Well......other than incompetence.

That what I kind of thought. I hate this dealership, the one I normally went to closed down. What to do, what to do.

A dye kit is relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Go check one out .Read the deestruckshuns. If it's somethin you think you can do, then I would do it myself if I were you. You can get a black light anywhere. Just make sure you install the dye in the LOW pressure side like the deestruckshuns say and you'll probably find the leak in short order.

Well they called and said they might of found a leak on one of the lines (service guy said) so they are going to replace it. Hopefully that will fix it. If not when it gets low agian I will check myself. The only reason I haven't done any of this myself is because its under warranty.

Barreth dodge and chrysler out here in Wasington, they are doing jeep warranty since the jeep dealer out here closed. I don't have time to take it into st. louis with my work schedule.
