Default Accident

Well it happened. Last night I was driving home and I got rear ended by an F-Series truck. The impact pushed me into the Ford Explorer in front of me. The jeep is pretty banged up. Damage to both front and rear, impact broke my drivers seat, ESP is freaking out, steering wheel doesn't match tire position. After all of that I was able to drive myself to the ER and then home later. I picked the wrong time to quit smoking.

Thats certainly no fun. Sorry but if a vehicle nearly twice your weight rear ends you, you can be held accountable for what you hit after that? Sounds sketchy!

Got any pics?

Glad your alright man. Did the driver of the truck say why he rearended you? Just not paying attention? Possibly texting?
Good luck with the no smoking.

That sucks. Hope you're able to leverage some aftermarket bumpers out of the deal.

the way I recall the law, is that if you hit the car in front of you and yall are stopped, you are too close to that car.

but in Texas, if you rearend someone it is your fault no matter what.

Happened to me years ago. I was stopped on the interstate (traffic) and the lady behind me was stopped as well. She got hit hard by a mustang in the rear and was pushed into me. I did not hit the person in front of me, but she got a ticket for being too close. The mustangs insurance paid for her car and mine, even though she got ticketed for being too close to me.

Hmm I am in Texas and had that happen to me in my work truck last year.

Hit from behind with a dump truck that pushed me into a caddy in front of me. Major damage to the caddy.

No ticket for me and the dirt contractors INS paid for the damage to my work truck and the caddy.
