Default Adding power windows?

So, I'm looking at the local dealer's stock on jeep's site, and it seems none of the X's have the power convenience group.. or it doesn't say power windows or anything like that anywhere. The sahara they have doesn't say power convenience group, but it does list power windows... so I guess the X's just don't have em.. so, is that something that can be added on? or will I need all new replacement doors if I want power windows and all that stuff? I'm just not sure I'll be a fan of the old fashioned crank style since I'm so used to always having power everything

Friday's the big day... almost there finally

Also on that note, if it's not already included in the color I want, is it possible to get the sirrus radio added in as well? I'd want to just have that done at the dealer to roll it all into the loan instead of worrying about getting an aftermarket radio for some brat to steal someday, i'm sure the factory radio will more than suit my needs, I just would like to have sirrus too

I don't know about the radio, but I beleive the power windows are an option on the X and std on the Sahara. I don't know about the Rubi, though. I will tell you that coming from power everything on every vehicle I owned except one, I LOVE not having power on the Jeep. 1 less thing to worry about, I can operate the windows without the ignition, and I take the doors off alot - I bet the power windows add a little weight to that operation!

Just my $.02

power group is an option in X's...I got it. Worth it to me.

I believe it is standard in the Sahara

2 dr.... no power is no big deal
4 dr.... no power is a pain in the ass

I baught a 4 dr and added the power windows myself, was a lot of work but SOOOOOOOOOO worth it. There was a post on here a while back about a company that now makes a power window conversion kit for the JK... the price was a lot cheaper than the way i did it by ordering OEM parts and aftermarket harnesses and switches etc etc. The kit used all quality parts and was a super nice clean finished look. Get the no power and if you decided you want the power stuff, just add it. Sorry i don't have a link to the post about the aftermarket kit, but if you search for it long enough, you should be able to find it

good luck

ok cool.. what I meant was though... if the one that I want that's sitting on the lot doesn't have the power windows, can I get the dealer to install them?

I'm just worried I won't like the crank windows.. like if I'm out driving somewhere and I want to open up all the windows, I gotta stop and uncrank all 4.. much easier to just hit a button I think if I were stuck without power windows I'd rather order half doors and go all out I just know how lazy I am and I think it would become a nuisance to me after a while

I am not sure, but I doubt that is something they can add at the dealer. If they can it'll cost ya! I would look at other dealer inventories (they will trade with your dealer) or just consider ordering your jeep.

OH they can add them at the dealer for you... if you're willing sell a child to pay for it though. I added mine from oem parts.... the motors and regulators totalled to like over 500 dollars.... and i made a lot of my wire harness, trimmed the inner manual crank panels to fit the power motors, and plugged the hole where the handle went... just a rough ballpark but i would guess if the dealer where to do it, you'd be looking around at least 2000 bucks. by the time they tack on four regulators, four motors, four inner door panels, four outer door panels, the wire harness for the inside of the doors, the vehicle wire harness the switches, the new center stack panel, flash the can bus system to run it all.... it would get pricey fast, and thats not even if you wanna add the locks too. It can be done, but i wouldn't go to the dealer for it.

If you're really patient, and dont' want the hassle of adding the power stuff yourself, then just wait it out till you find one that has what you want, if you're able to add the power stuff yourself, then go ahead and get one, your last option would be to find a place that does car install stuff and get some prices for the work,

good luck

Ouch, that's what I was afraid of. I'll definately get one that has it pre-installed. The dealer I was gonna go with just doesn't seem to have any.. compared to last week it looks like they sold 5 jeeps! I remember it saying 15 for 4 doors last week, today it says 10.. we had just our first really nice weekend here, so I guess a lot of folks wanted a new jeep But I guess that's bad for me for trying to haggle down to a real low price :(

They had some Saharas which I may go with after all, I was just trying to save a bit by getting an X with all the goodies I wanted

I was going to do an online order but the wait even for an X was going to be 6-8 weeks and I don't want summer to be over by the time I get my Jeep I'll see what they have to offer when Friday rolls around, if there's nothing good I'll try another dealer on saturday, or I'll tell the guy no power windows no sale, and see if they can get me one from another dealer

A big +1 here!
It is cheaper then getting from the dealer and you can put switches where ever you want. Just helped my friend do his and it was easy!
