Default After the fire.

Well for those of you who looked into the thread a started a few weeks ago, you already know the beginning of this story. For those that didn't see it. > https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...-for-1-misfire

So today, I get a call yersterday evening from the service tech saying my Jeep is ready. Note: I haven't seen the parts list but it pretty much includes a long block, some wiring, and associated things on the back of the engine by the battery. I tell the service tech, "Ok, I'll be up there first thing in the morning to pick it up." She says, "Well we got to put a battery in it. Your's will not hold a charge after charging and testing it. We'll replace it if you want us to." I'm like, "It was fine last month when all this crap started with the header bolts. So, is it ready or not?" She proceeds to tell me it tested bad and it will cost me if I wanted them to change it since the Jeep is over 36K miles. It's two years old! I'm pissed now. I can't believe how far this company will go to cut corners and try and make a fast buck instead of doing the right thing. The facts are..... it's a 7 year battery. It's only two years old. It IS NOT A DEEP CYCLE BATTERY. It was fine before dropping it off for them to do the header bolts. The fire caused multiple issues that no doubt called for lots of code reading. I went by and checked on it once last week and they had the scanner hooked up with my ignition on then. Deep cycling a battery not designed for it will kill it.
Yet they tended to think I was responsible for paying them for a new battery and install. I told them I would not be purchasing a battery from them and that I wanted them to contact Interstate (supposedly who Jeep gets their batteries from) and demand a new one. If it got pro-rated, they could pick up the tab. She said she'd work on that and get back with me on it. That was this morning at 8am.
