For a safe/performance psi I was told to start around

E rated 12

D rated 14

C rated 16

And go from there.

I am sure people go lower. A lot if things can be a factor so it's probably best to play with it.

Just be aware that the lower you go, the more exposed your sidewalls are too damage. Damage that means new tire time. Been there, done that twice now. Once on a tire with 3K miles in it. Then on a tire near its end of life. I guess it all averages out. LOL.

I go down to 9-10 psi on the rocks with my 12.5" wide KM2's (c rated) on 8" wide wheels with no problems. For regular trail riding I run 12-13

15 psi would be a good place to start.

Agreed, around 15 would be a good starting point...
