You shouldn't either. Buy what you want.
I love the look of the body colored fenders, and I hate cleaning the textured black plastic ones. But they are pretty forgiving for pushing through narrow brushy trails, which is where I go when I get to go.
Have fun in your new Rubi, no matter where you take it.

I could care less what other people may think, I'm that guy that can rock black socks and sandals and not give darn. 
Just curious if I am going to hear a bunch of BS the entire time I own it.

Colored top is fine, but colored fenders just look stupid. 
Seriously, it's yours - do what you want. There's some mod'ed out Jeeps I see on this forum and think "that doesn't look good". Some might not like mine, but to hell with them.
Oh, and my Sahara can beat up your Rubicon.... but only in the mall parking lot.

Enjoy your new Jeep and have fun with it. I too started with a 71 Bronco. I still have it and would like to get it going as a project for my 12 year old son to drive one day.

You could paint flowers on your jeep, run 29in tires, and strap a fairy farting pixie dust on your spare tire and ain't nobody gonna say shit cause you runnin a 6.1 hemi.
