Attachment to the Jeep tested hard...
I've just returned from a 1,200+ miles trip.
The difference between the 200hp of the 3.8L and the 285 hp of the 3.6L, became pretty much insignificant, when I drove at 300+ km/h (around 200 mph).
That's because it was in a Ferrari 458.
Unlike its direct competitors (e.g. the Lamborghini Gallardo), the 458 has an exemplary mix of being pleasant & comfortable for daily driving, in spite of the terrific performance.
In addition, its design is a very harmonic & smooth piece of art, rather than the blunt look of its competitors.
After such a week, I HAD to drive the Jeep again... so I took off to the country-side, to mountainous narrow twisting roads.
...Back from razor-sharp steering to the constant little corrections, back to the time it takes to get from 40 to 60mph, when two days ago, I was well over 100mph in the same time... back to slow-motion cornering...
I didn't think that I'd feel SO good and so much "back at home" in the Jeep.
I don't mind not having the acceleration, or not being "glued" to the road regardless of the speed.
I also don't miss not being able to get too near to a sidewalk, not to mention getting two wheels on it...
I lacked the feeling of freedom to go anywhere, beyond the end of the road.
But, if someone offered to exchange -- give me a 458 and take me Jeep, I'd say yes.
...Then, I'd sell the 458, buy a new Jeep, mod it, and dedicate the "change" for lots of fuel...
-- a considerable saving, in view of the Ferrari fuel consumption

While I've never driven a Ferrari or gone over 140mph I know exactly what your saying! There is no way to describe that feeling that you can go almost anywhere in a Jeep and not have any worries while doing it. Better yet knowing that same vehicle is your daily driver and should you decide run some idiot in a hybrid over you can do it all while having your doors and top off!

You know what? -- forget the Ferrari. I love the Jeeps' shape. I'd happily settle for a Jeep with an Aluminum frame and Carbon fiber body, doors and top...

That gauge -- compared to Ferrari, the Jeep becomes a Prius...

It's pretty funny comparing a Jeep to a Ferrari

Fifth Gear should make a show -- how many times a Ferrari overtakes a Jeep, while the Jeep is doing one lap...

The fastest I did with the JKUR was around 90, too. No shaking, felt smooth, but I agree -- a Jeep has a very little margin for error at that speed. It lacks the proper brakes, road-holding or safe maneuverability at such speed. I usually don't go above 75.

When tail gated, I touch the brakes very lightly, with the left leg, just enough to trigger the brake lights but not enough to actually slow down... the driver behind thinks I'm braking and slows down.
