Default atv winch on jeep

I have a friend who is selling a brand new superwinch atv 3000 winch. I know absolutely nothing about winches. I have a front tube bumper than can carry a winch. I was wondering if the winch would fit on my jeeps bumper and whats the size difference between atv winches and winches people use on their jeeps. would it be stupid to use this winch on my jeep?Click image for larger version

Ok the base rule for winches is that you need one thats pulling capacity is at least 1.5 times the weight of the vehicle. so for a 4000 lbs vehicle you would want a winch that has a 6000 lbs capacity. therefore a 3000 lbs winch would not do you any good as your JK weight is far greater than the capacity of the winch. It may be able to be mounted to your bumper but it is designed for ATV's.

Too small. Get a winch with at least 8,000 pounds capability.

Agree. I think a 3k would be unsafe. You would either burn it up...or something would come apart at the very wrong time.
