You are right, that's why I went with an auto after previous 3 Jeeps had manual. I don't have to defend it anymore than I have to defend my Jeep being a yuppie Sahara! By the end of July it will have been to Moab and the Rubicon nuff said

Huh? 3:73s in my '07 X. Not special order. 4:10s would've been special order, eh?

Manual, I've had nothing but bad luck with Auto's and only once have I had a cutch go out on me, but never anything with the transmission. Plus I think it's more fun to wheel with the manual.

Then you don't mean HUH?, you meant to say:
No you jackass! 3:73s in my '07 X. Not special order. 4:10s would've been special order, eh!

I couldn't remember if it was 4:10's with the auto, automatically, or if it was 4:10 with auto AND tow group & as special order without the tow group.('07's only) Which is why I asked.

No, I meant, Huh? As in I'm confused. 4:10? Really? Cuz mine was not special ordered and it came with 3:73s, so that means that I think I would've had to special ordser 4:10s.....eh?

See, that's the inherent problem with electronic communication like this and emails and such. It's many times very easy to infuse your own inflection to the dialogue....

eh?

yeup, real easy, I thought you were letting me know I was confused, I didn't realize you are as confused as I am!

Here, look at this thread, from post #30 on
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-off-road-101-97/going-downhill-offroad-jk-43676/

Now we can spread the confusion to other threads.

( I ordered, but it was a Rubi, standard with the 4.10's that's why I don't recall the setup on the others.)

? dont the auto's have to use the brakes more... or can they "engine brake" on steep down hills, like the sticks do...?

i'm thinking NOT.... but you auto guys can tell me.

i know the stick will creep down steep inclines in low gear, with NO brakes used... even with the 3.21's.
