Default Axle Recall...

I know theres a thread on this somewhere but i couldn't find it.

Axle Recall, add me to the list... got my notice for the axle fastener bolt recall today
I was hoping i didn't get one built in that time frame oh well. Guess theres a problem with torque specs on a few of the suspension parts as well. That would explain my first warranty issue i posted a while back about the loose shock at 2700km on the ODO.

I assume that once you have installed a lift kit your JK does not qualify for the recall. Once you buy a JK and start modifying it you can plan on voiding most of the warenty for one reason or another.

Ehh if you don't do anything serious they usually are good about it, some stuff I did at all different dealers also.

-Broken transfer case cable (4 inch lift probably caused) (Warranty)
-Differential Seal Leak (G2 diffy covers overfill) (Warranty)
-Torn drive shaft boot (lift) (Warranty)
-leaking CV boots (After 35's and 4 inch lift + offroad) (Warranty)
-side clear coat flaking off (Probably from bush rash and waxing the crap out of it) (Warranty)

Depending on what kind of shop it is, and how well you know them... they get paid for warranty work regardless from the manufacturer so its not like they care.

I just have always fixed my own because I do not want anyone else working on my jeep.....I have seen how most of the flat rate dealer technicians operate....naw

They don't really specify on the recall sheet you get. It just says Axle Fastener Bolts and then when you read down on the problem it says that some suspension parts may be improperly torqued. Sounds like some poor quality control at the factory to me.

Oh and no lift yet so i should be in the clear if they were to try and be dicks about not warrantying it. Funny thing is it's a safety recall and I have to wait damn near a week before they have me booked in!!

Oh well, I'm sure I don't have half the original bolts, and i've torqued 'em all at least once already. I'm with SLVR07, noone else has touched my Jeep in 50K miles but me. I was just curious which ones they're questioning.

When you find one of these that is something else besides a lube jockey let me know. Most of them are flag rate which creates different but similar issues.
