Back Gate/Tire Swing
Hey gang...
Love my Jeep. One thing that vexes me just a touch....
If i had my druthers, I'd prefer that the tire swung away on it's own bracket and the tailgate lowered.
Not being a Wrangler owner or historian, i'm not sure if this was an option in earlier models and was deemed a bad idea, or just an engineering oversight/decision made by DC.
What is the consensus from the masses?
Thanks...

my 53 cj3a; tailgate goes down and spare mounted up by the front fende originaly.
my 86 cj tire swung out and then flipped down.
late model suvs, they all seem to swing out on the tailgate, quick and easy.
although, on my 03 rubicon i built a bumper with a swing away mount for my 35 inch tire, but of course the gate still swings out too.
p.s. sory about the punctuation, my shift key is sticking...
