DCX 220 turbo diesel concept
DCX today unveiled the Vision C220 BLUETEC concept, a version of the just-unveiled next-generation C-Class with a concept four-cylinder BLUETEC engine that produces 170 hp and 295 ft-lbs. of torque. In terms of fuel economy, it sips low-sulfur diesel at the rate of 5.5 liters for every 100 kilometers. In our wacky metrics, that equates to about 42.76 miles per gallon. Hybrid who? The engine uses all the latest diesel carbon and NOx reducing technology, including four valves per cylinder, a third-gen common rail direct injection system, a variable nozzle turbine turbo, exhaust gas recirculation. The BLUETEC bit adds an NOx storage catalytic converter with a patented onboard ammonia generation system that, ulike urea injection systems, requires no additives or regular check ups.
The Vision C220 BLUETEC is technically a concept, however, that will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show next week. While technically a production piece of hardware, we have to admit its numbers are very impressive.

Now I know that Daimler is trying to sell off Chrysler, but look at the torque on this smaller, more efficient concept engine. Can you say Wrangler? Who wants one?

Sounds great, but not so special ,
Here are some figures in regards to the jk diesel that will be available in Europe :
Engine : 2.8 l CRD [Diesel] V6 Gasoline
130KW/ 177 Hp at 3800 tpm 146KW/199 Hp at 5500 tpm
400/410 NM at 2000 - 2600 tpm 315 at 4000 tpm
Consumation for the Diesel is foreseen at :
(6 speed) City : 12.7 l / 100 km
Highway : 8.3 l/100km
Combined : 9.9 l/100km
The values mentioned for the C220 are not that strange. I Drive a C200 at the moment and I also use between 5 and 6 l/100 km on the highway. These european diesel engine are good and not consuming to much, but they don't weight the same as a jeep (a lot less)

My mistake, I wanted to say not so special in regards to the Diesel usage for a mercedes C220.
I'm currious about the NM for the JK Diesel which is 400/410 in regards to the 315 of the V6 and this with only +- 2500 rpm in regards to the +- 4000 rpm.
