The tdi's are kind of an exception. A co-worker of mine has a tdi and the block heaters were a $1000 option or something since they were never designed at the factory to have them(???!!!). The VW dealer told her that it wasn't needed. I guess they don't reach the same low temperatures over there in Germany, because she ended up springing for the block heater eventually.

why do you think this winter has been so active and some would say historic? there is a huge difference in temperature from those artic blasts that we are getting, and all of canada is dealing with. then a sudden line where people in TX, AZ, FL, and the southern states have their top off and its 80.

the differences in pressues are making things go wild. im not supporting any political person. hell, honestly i have no idea who even said it that got the people all riled up about it a few years ago. there are facts out there that no one can deny. many say its just a cycle, man say all sorts of things. reguardless, the eco system, and the weather is telling us something is up

i hate the politcal aspect of it, because people take sides so quickly when a human face or a poltical figure is involved.

2010 has was the warmest year globally in hundreds of years.

you guys hearing about the rain thats been coming down in australia? they got like 3+ feet of rain after it was already flooded like crazy.

Im dont think its a something serious we will ever experience. but we will get a small taste of what our grandchildren will deal with.

its not politcial anymore, its scientific. basic, quick info..

Well when you have Al Gore a few years ago giving a speech in New York City one winter day which happened to be the same day in NYC that set a new record low temperature for NYC, kinda hard to make it look like it holds water. Especially when he knocks people for flying private jets and driving big gas guzzling SUV's and he is turning around after giving his global warming speech then getting on his own private jet and flies to whatever airport he is going to to get into his big gas guzzling H2 (and he doesn't have just one) to drive home then turns around and does it again! Look, it seems to be very obvious to me that people have to have, correction, most people have to have that one thing to believe in that is like a disaster, the end of the world, the Apocalypse, etc... Just before it turned year 2000 people were freaking out about the computers saying everything is gonna crash, we aren't gonna be able to eat, our cars won't work, etc. Then it was and still is global warming, also its the whole Mayan calendar 2012 thing (they even made a movie about it). Since the global warming for the most part people lost belief in, now they are saying the North pole is moving south now. You watch and listen, when people lose interest and stop putting $ into that it will be something else, they will come up with something. Don't forget El Nino either, oh, and the hole the size of Texas in our atmosphere crap too! Wait, I got another, if that don't panic you also remember our atmosphere is starting to not reflect and is starting to pull in now, its gonna pull in asteroids! Oh God help! Come on already people chill out, when are you gonna really see its all about getting your money or tax payer dollars which is still your money. Don't get me started on the solar flare junk about the sun either cause weren't they saying a short time ago like two months ago or so a solar flare came off the sun because a solar storm on the sun and it was going to hit Britain or somewhere? Britain is still there isn't it, I don't remember in the news hearing it was blown up, burned up, people being incinerated or that it was burned down. Just ask yourself this question, or just wonder, when this news came out how much money was sent to some organization or another to research, to watch, or to plant that money to hide or hold? And what happened? Did the money get returned? Better yet, did you hear anything about any money? Probably not, cause when chaos is happening or suppose to happen what are you worried about the most? Is it what your country is doing with tax payer dollars? Should it be? Do you wonder what the government's other hand is doing when the other hand is talking about chaos, end of life, Apocalypse, etc? Like most people probably not right. But how many times does this cycle have to repeat before you start to realize hey something smells fishy? Or am I just considered to kinda be like the person that cried wolf too many times? Just some food for thought.

Default You win

I never want to try to beat that.

I whine / complain if the temperature is much below 32 degrees F.
If it's in the teens I'll start commenting on how people were never intended to live this far north of the equator, my ancestors migrated too far...
In about 13 years I'm not sticking around through this cold weather, hope to go south of here during the winter.
