Default Best gas mileage ever in a Jeep

I reset the trip meter at Brianhead peak today (elevation 11,307 feet), then drove down from the mountain on 25 mph to 45 mph paved roads. I watched the average mpg climb to over 45 mpg, then changed the dash display back to compass and temp. Thirty miles later, at the base of the mountain (6,000 feet elevation) I changed the dash display back to avg mpg, and this is what it said.

The Jeep is a 2012 Wrangler 2 door sport with the stock 225/75R-16 tires and 3.21 gears. The Jeep has three options; hard top, auto trans, and air conditioning.

I'm thinking the computer spazzed out with the long downhill trip with no throttle being applied for 30 miles. Just thought it was funny, and snapped a picture to share. Bet you guys didn't know these Jeeps had a 3,500 mile fuel range.

No spazzout. It doesn't take much fuel to coast downhill, and the system measured just how little that is. I've seen over 200 a few times when playing the downhill game.

For another eye-opener try a reset at the bottom of a long climb. Not pretty.
