The rules clearly state that at the sole discretion of the operator, a jeep may return a wave from any other type of vehicle. In fact, I think it's encouraged to promote awareness and show our stewardship to the off road community. We just can't initiate the wave to non-jeeps.

When I owned an FJ on the forums we had the same thread. Jeep guys waving at us. We thought it was good off roader love. I see know after being on this forum how different the communities are.

Agreed! I don't wave at anything except for a jeep....however if a vehicle waves at me, I always wave back. I had a guy in a lifted Nissan pathfinder wave, a little Suzuki Samarai and an H3. Mind you they all look like they offloaded, maybe that's why they wave...but I waved back regardless

I just take it as a "hi, I love your jeep, I wish I had one".

Meh. If it's a modified 4x4 I will wave.

It's just a hobby...

I'd wave back just for the fact that what if your path had crossed on the trail and your were stuck between a rock and a tree. Then that "guy" you did'nt wave at drives by.....

Definately wave; the FJ is weird looking but it's a good off road vehicle; and about 100 x as reliable as any JK.
