Big wave to all the '08 and '07 original owners out there! Who's left?
Bought my 08 in February 08 with the lifetime power train warranty. Any other original owners from that era? I have 81k miles and I have done more things with my wife and kids in that thing than I can remember. Super easy to work on too. Good vehicle. Going camping the next few weeks, towing lots of gear.

I still have my '08, and I've got about 85k on it. I bought it in either September or early October of '07. I had been searching the entire country for one exactly like it, except for the MyGig nav system, and the closest I was able to get was silver. I was on my way to buy it in Chicago, when this dealership called and asked if I was still interested in one in Steel Blue. He was also in Chicago. I was amazed he had taken note of it months earlier, when I was still searching and had contacted him. Anyway, he said a guy had ordered this one in February as an '07 and it took so long that it became an '08 and was finally delivered. The guy had grown impatient and told them he didn't want it anymore. I changed course and bought it. He gave me a better deal than the guy with the silver one would have, anyway. So I got lucky and got what I wanted.
The Jeep has been great and the only problems have been with the transmission. It made a squeaking noise at 17k, and they did a big fix for it popping out of first gear. Both were fixed under warranty. It uses oil, but that seems typical.
With the lifetime powertrain warranty, I'm going to run this thing into the ground! It has been easily my favorite of all vehicles I've owned, and I've liked all of them.
Mark, I love seeing your adventures and am interested in just how far you'll run that machine! Keep the videos coming!

I bought my 2008 JKRU after my 15 month tour in Iraq. I think It was Oct-Nov time frame, I also have the lifetime warranty. I'm currently at 80K and she is running stronger then ever. I think we bought these at the best time because they came with just about everything. You got both the soft and hardtop, and the NAV system. I have since changed out most of the stock items, but she still looks as nice as the day I bought her.

2-door, March of 08, a little over 120,000. Lifetime power train, paid for, still love seeing it in the garage, climbing in, driving it anywhere. They will probably bury me in it. This thing has seen more of this country than most of my friends combined
