Bikini,duster and windjammer
For some time now I have considered removing my soft top and sporting the windjammer, bikini, and duster for the summer..I already have my back seat removed . My question is this....Has anyone lived with this setup for the summer/spring?...will it protect me from the elements? I love riding topless however I where a suit constantly so AC,dry seats and the ability take the bikini top off easily are very important.
Anyone have this setup???
Thanks

Bestop now has a Soundbar top. The name is decieving as it's really a bikini that connects to the rear of the sound bar and wraps around it and the roll bars. There's also a duster and widjammer that is sold separately that LOOKS like zips to it. It looks a lot more weather resistant than the set up for Wranglers past.
I didn't see it on the Q-Tec site, but it's in their newest catalog.

I had nothing but a bikini top on my TJ for spring and summers. It kept the sun off in the day and helped trap some heat at night. I drove it like this from Socal to Oregon with some camping stops along the way. Most fun I have ever had on the 5 freeway.
I don't know how hard the bikinis for the JK are but mine was super easy to take on and off.

From Bestop's site, here's the Soundbar Cap http://http://www.bestop.com/index.php?s=69
And at the bottom of this page is the wraparound Windjammer http://http://www.bestop.com/index.php?s=20
Their website doesn't show the detail very well, but in the Q-Tec catalog, it looks they seal real well, almost making a halftop.

Horsty, here's a photo of the Bestop bikini, duster, and windjammer setup and the wraparound windjammer. As you can see there is a little gap (actually much smaller than the gap on the previous windjammer for the TJ) by the sport bar on each side on the regular windjammer. It would have to be seriously raining sideways for water to get in there, but it could happen. The wrap around windjammer they now have will eliminate the gap on the sides, but the window in that windjammer seems smaller and lower, I don't see how anyone could see out of it as well to change lanes or back up easily; something to consider...I really don't know why they do not make the window larger, there is room for it.

i have a four door. I use the bestop safari top and duster deck cover but no windjammer. I leave my Jeep out in the rain all the time with no doors on and this set-up. The only serious problem I have other than a little water on the carpets is the outer most edges of the seat get a little wet. I live in Fl and it rains a lot here and so far this has been a good set-up. Remember that you can use the front two panels of the freedom top independently of the rest of the hardtop too.
