Blowing engines due to oil weight?
I'm sure we've all read a story of the blown engine at 40k. I wonder if it could be due to the weight of the engine oil [5w-20]? I was curious as to what the Caravan engine uses, so I downloaded the owners manual from the Dodge website. The 3.3 and 3.8 are the same at 5w-20 and the 4.0 uses 10w-30. I wonder why there is a difference of oil between 0.2 liters engine size?
maybe the cranks are coming out of these engines because of the steep angles that we submit our jeeps to. it only take a split second with out oil being supplied to the crankshaft to pull a rod or main bearing.

But from what I have heard, Chrysler/Jeep responds the same to pretty much everyone who has tried to get their engines covered: You are SOL.
I hope none of you Jeepers out there with the LPW have to find out the hard way that they will find ANY reason they can to not cover things. Hence all of the threads online from people who don't get ball joints, axles, evap canisters, etc. replaced under warranty because they modded their Jeeps. Even if the mod had nothing to do with the failure of the part.
If the dealer does all of the maintainance on your ride, or if you have all of the receipts for everything, I hope the works out for you, if the time ever comes. Hopefully it won't.
Sorry, but I have zero faith in Chrysler/Jeep's customer service.
