Default Bolt Property/Class

Gents - How do you determine if a bolt is a class 8.8, 10.9, etc.? I'm installing a lift tomorrow and want to ensure I torque to the proper settings (i.e. a 12MM bolt is torqued to 55ft/lbs if it's class 8.8, but 75ft/lbs if it's a 10.9).

Thanks!

Unfortunately, if the bolts were made in China then it will not really matter. I'd go on the low side if I were you, before they start snapping. But to answer your question, the code should be on the head, and very clearly read. Otherwise it is a fake.

Much appreciated insight, guys - just what I was looking for. Plus, that torque-setting write-up is the cat's pajamas!
