Catalytic Converter
Not sure if some of you are aware but there is a new trend in thievery happening where thieves are stealing catalytic converters off of vehicles because they contain certain metals which are sellable on the black market.
Yesterday a guy at my work had his stolen (literally cut off) his Toyota Tacoma.
They hit his oil line as well and it's all over the lot.
This all in broad day light at a Fortune 500 company with camera systems everywhere.
I'm not aware of exactly where the CC is on the Wrangler.. but it's something to think about.
Unbelievable

Ok I work for a recycling company and converters are worth any where from 20 bucks to 150 bucks and we buy alot of them but there is no way to tell if one is stolen or used.
I mean come on think about it, can you tell a difference between your muffler on your car if I took it off of your car stealing it at the mall, or if your muffler went bad and the shop that put on a new one for ya and gave you your old one to sell????
A converter is on the pipe that comes from the engine and leads to your muffler, it looks similar to those that don't know what they look like - like a muffler or a steel fat tube 3 times the size of the pipe and fatter like an oval. There are about 300 types of converters and they are sold by what type they are like domestic foreign after market and such. That still doesn't tell me which one is on a jeep though or what year vehicle it comes off of most are not labeled. You can recognize them by shape and size.
So in short it is impossible to tell if they are stolen.
