Default Caught The Bastards!!!!!

Hey guys, I'm a cop in New York City, Just wanted to share a little good news. I'm assigned to an auto theft detail, and last night I caught two guys stealing the doors off of a 4 door rubi with half doors. Got them red handed. Perhaps they are aware of the demand for the half doors. Either way, one is on parole, the other is on probation, so they will be off the streets at least for a little while (probably not too long in this liberal city though)

Awesome! My garage was just broken into with all of my tools and bunch of other stuff about a month ago. Never caught the guys. Glad to see some get nabbed.

Good to hear. So many times we hear about things getting stolen, and it goes unsolved. Here in Lancaster Pa, there's been a rash of vandalism on vehicles. The A%%hole or holes have destroyed paint on vehicles using some type of acid or solvent to the tune of $450,000 so far. Started about two years ago, and he or they still have not been caught. The police have what they call "someone of interest", and had a talk with him. Since then no more vehicles have been targeted, but they don't have enough evidence yet. Sure would be nice to see them get to the bottom of this.
Oh yea, and thanks for your service.

RED9BULL - Thank you for getting a few more off the street. I saw a guy eyeing my jeep and checking it a little closer than I wanted the other day at the mall. He looked like he was up to no good so I ran to the tire store and got some locking lug nuts. I have one on each tire and I'm getting another set to have 2 on each tire. If anything it will slow them down so they can get caught.

We appreciate all that you guy's do!!!

Excellent. But, you're probably right. They'll probably get out early because of jail overcrowding.

Is theft a big issue with Jeeps?

There was a thread a few days ago where a guy had his spare stolen and others there said they had similar problems... never thought about steeling doors but since they come off easy that makes sense.. are easily-removable Jeep parts stolen often, or is really about as often as any other car break in might be?

Certain cars are easier to get into than others...Our jeeps pose no real challenge to anyone who knows what they are doing. Slowing them down is key

Nice work! Now if you wouldn't mind going down to the evidence locker and getting 2 of those half doors and I'll meet you out behind the station in about 30 minutes.......

I blame the Amish... after all, they don't have a need for automobiles, now do they?
