so i found one 230 miles away (I'm outside Boston, found one on Long Island). Called him, got $800 off sticker, and told him I'd be down bright and early Sunday.
Well, the wife got food poisoning last night, so I took a Grayhound to the city, then the LI railroad out to the Island. Called the dealer from Penn Station and asked him to pick me up! No problem, he says.

Can't wait to take the top off. I gave my 97 4-banger soft-top to my nephew yesterday: 24 hours w/out a Jeep! No wonder I had a headache all day.

 

your Jeep is probable sitting somewhere here...

 

Gave up on the order, found one on a lot 100mi away.

Only difference was the color - turns out. I like this much better!

Since I was moving backwards in the factory D1 on Tuesday and back to D on Thursday I went in and talked to my salesman this weekend to confirm what I had been told on this forum that X's and Saharas ordered with the rear locker and without the swaybar disconect are not being built at this time. He told me that this is true but the sales manager was going to call the factory today to see if they get mine pushed through, since my first one was damaged on the way to the dealership, and if they couldn't they would add the swaybar disconnect and not to worry they would do what ever they had to to get my order moving again.

 

just got the call. 16 weeks, 4 days. aaaand i cant pick it up til the end of the week.

 

Let's see:

Ordered 4/5/07 (Rubi with half doors, 6cd & supplemental airbags)
Checked today it's now BX - will check back in a month.

I just placed my order today for a Unlimited X in Detonator Yellow! The order will actually be entered tomorrow, so I hope to get my VON at that time!

They just told me it would take the standard 6-8 weeks. I think this dealer has pretty good allocation, so I hope they're right. However, I'm pretty sure it'll take longer since yellow is so new and since I'm ordering dual tops.

I'm fine with that though, because the longer it takes, the more it helps me as I can continue paying down my current car. The dealership guaranteed me a certain amount on my trade in (whenever the JK is delivered), so that means more money to go towards my new loan.
