OOOoooohhhhh, that Flame Red is awesome!!! Where in Ventura is that shot? Lived there for 4 years, left in 04'.

I know that just because MY JK has stalled doesn't mean everyone's will, just don't want people to get their hopes up JUST because they've gone to D1.

Lastly, I shot some photos of a new Rubi at a not so near dealer that JUST got it in Saturday morning. The VIN on this vehicle ends in 116330. Mine ends in 138945. This is a difference of 22,615 JKs. Does everyone/anyone know if they run down the assembly line in sequence? If so, there's over 22,000 JKs that have to be built before they will get to mine.

If anyone else out there is willing to share their sequence numbers of their VIN, it will help shed some light on this new idea, and see if we can better determine when our own JKs will be built based on our VIN numbers.

What does everyone think??

I have a question, I was looking at ordering my new JK Unlimited Sahara this upcoming week. But with such along wait, looking at late Feb at best, or most likely March. Would it be worth preordering a 2008, next year and getting that first thing when avaliable in Septemberish ?

Thoughts ?

I completely understand, but I wish we had 100% truthfull inside info, but so far we seem to get only pits and pieces and the rest is just rumors. I mean do we even know when DC IS closing for the holiday? Do we really know if there is a shortage of hardtops? Problems with production? etc etc

VETTE277, Order what you want, put down a deposit and have the dealer do a 3 state search. I put down a grand, to secure my order.Had them keep doing locates- found 1 in Flagstaff that met my needs 95% , But because the dealer did not want to play ball and trade I just waited and had them keep checking. Now im in F status as of last week, and it looks like I'll be getting what I ordered. I'll bet some will back out and maybe you can take advantage of someone elses loss. Maybe you will not have to wait all summer.

The Jeeps are not built based on the VIN sequence numbers. Somewhere is a post back in like September where JK Insider explained this... But I caan't seem to find it.

yea if they were built in sequence then mine would have went to D1 WAY before yours (SpudRacer) since my vin was issued a month before yours was...so even though yours has been bounced arround it's still gotten past mine that's just sittin in D

My last two vehicles were red, too. Guess I should've been a fireman!

Re: the photo in Ventura. Actually, that'd be my house in Simi Valley.

Default Red!!

Now that is the best color. We have a Steel Blue Sahara. But the red is my favorite - really a sharp looking rig- enjoy it and congrats.
