After 6 days in KZM, my Jeep finally arrived - first rail (KZN). Still have not recieved an expected dealer delivery date.

My Jeep is in it's 7th day at KZ status with no ship date. Why oh why does it take so long to ship. They must be filling the trains to maximum capacity. The dealer told me it should arive at the dealership on the 24th, but if it hasn't shipped yet i can't see it being there by then. Week 15 hear we come. hopefully i don't have to see week 16.

I know this is a repeat question, but when is it too late
to make a change to your order.

I ordered a Sahara but I'm thinking of switching to a Rubicon
after seeing all the great trail pics.

Feel free to talk me out of this line of thinking.

 

Once it is in D status you cannot make a change. But you are not talking about making a change to an order, you are talking a new order. A change would be considered a change in options (i.e. adding MyGig or Tinted Windows, etc.).

The Rubicon, X, or Sahara are not options, they are model packages. So if you want a Rubicon, just have them submit a new order.

 

Jeff, do any '07 wranglers you have already delivered, or status beyond BG or BX have the MyGig? Just asking because I am trying to figure out if the addition of MyGig was the cause of my order going back to BG instead of D.

That's what i'm talking about. You gotta love the modern assembly line. We need more video's like that.

 

I have built 5 CJ's over 20 years. My view is that if you want to go wheelin' I would order the Rubicon. If nothing other than cost, the Rubicon is already dialed in. Adding lockers alone would be more money and trouble than upgrading to a Rubicon. If you think there is a chance you may get into the harder-core wheelin' especially rocks, I would go rubicon for sure, even if it set my order back sevral months. Some things are worth waiting for!
