I got a call from my local dealer yesterday about it, thought they said the recall number was K13. They were cool and told me what the recall was for and it was a free fix. Now to make an appointment to get'er done.
My dealer heard about it, but never has seen anything about it, but this was a couple of months ago when I got my steering intermediate shaft replaced.
GutlessPhred, I'm curious, why did you get a new steering gear installed? My slop in my steering, that the shaft was replaced for, is back. Guy at 4-wheel parts and myself tried to isolate it, but couldn't find anything obvious. We were thinking it might be something in the steering box. This is why I ask.

Yeah, I mentioned it too them a few months ago and they just looked at me like I was an idiot. normally the look is deserving, but not this time. Then when the recall was actually there, I told him I knew what the recall was about and he acted like he didn't have a clue about it. (which may be true)
I just took it in for an oil change and the tech. at the dealership found it. They told me it was the steering box that is causing the problem and they are replacing the gear in it.

Dumb question, but it appears that my front inner fender liners were already removed before I bought my 2008 a month ago. The rear liners are still there. I assume this won't apply to me b/c I don't have fronts? I have some open recall items, so I will be taking in anyway, just wondering if I need to mention this.

Yep, the front passenger side has been rubbing. I can easily see the rubbing has worn on the metal brake line. A quick trim with a pair of dikes stopped the rub but it's going to the dealer because of the metal wear on the brake line. This problem could have gone very badly.
