ok... this might sound odd, but has anyone seen or heard of a CB radio that is USB or as a PCI card for the computer?

i ask this because i want to put a carputor in my Jeep (its much better than anything MyGig will ever dream of being) and i was thinking that it'd be nifty to have the CB radio built into the PC.

just wondering if anyone has seen or head of anything like this before?? I am no electronic engineer, so i cant even begin to design something like this.

 

One of the only manufacturers out there with anything remotely like this is WinRadio. I can't link to their page since they aren't a sponsor, but it is their name plus a dot com GOOD LUCK!!

 

thats a start... but it seems they only have recievers... you mean to tell me that there is nothing out there like this? shees... anyone wanna help me develop this and make some $$?

 

It may be hard to find just a CB program/pci card since most of the computer based apps are going to be for scanners (way more frequencies, but will still cover the CB freqs) I have a Uniden BCT15 and I can scan everything from CB, Marine, Police, etc. you name it I got it except for Cell phones. I picked up a Cobra 75 WX ST so that I could talk back to the truckers/jeeps, instead of just listening to them. If you were to make a pci card for just cb freqs, then you would have to think about how you would transmit back out, or did you just want to listen?
