Default considering a jk - rim question

Hey guys, I've been a dodge ram 1500 4x4 owner for about 20 years. I'm on my 4th ram, and although I love the truck, it's got a major 4x4 problem. It's going through the lemon law right now, and I have a arbitration hearing coming up within the next month.

I took a wrangler 2dr and 4dr Rubicon for a test drive and really like it. I've always wanted a wrangler, but it never seemed practical. I'm hoping they take my 9 month old truck back so I can buy a new jeep.

here's my question. I have a set of 17x8 4.5" back spacing procomp series 97 rock crawler rims with 33x12x17" procomp xtreme AT tires that I run on my ram (they are new). I believe the JK bolt pattern is 5 on 5, while my rims are 5 on 5.5...

Has anyone ever used this adapter to convert from 5 on 5 to 5 on 5.5?

thoughts?

Pro/cons?

or

Will the procomp tires I have fit on rubicon rims without an rubbing?

Thanks for any feedback.

I'm not yet sure of what the outcome of my case will be, and although I love the truck, I think I'm ready for something different after 20 years.

Here the rim/tires on the truck...

Everyone help sent positive energy to the arbitrator to force Chrysler to take back my truck... hehehe, i really want a wrangler. The more I view this forum the more I want one...

I you really need a pick-up, don't buy the Jeep because you will regret it.

If you want a real off-road vehicule, go ahead!

Wheel spacers are not very good for the bearings. I would buy off-set rims

But many jeepers have wheel spacers and they like it...

Thanks for the info... I really don't use my pick up much. in fact, i end up doing more for other people because I have one... LOL

I tow a trailer with two stand up jetskis... ~ 1500 max... and only from my house to the marina, a few miles down the road.

Yeah, I worry a little about the wear on the wheel bearings using spacers... i wonder if those tires will fit on rubi rims?

a few of my pals have rams as well... maybe i can sell my rims and buy the correct rims and not even worry about the spacers.

i think the smallest adapters are like 1.5" which would put you at 3" backspacing. i ran into the same dilema when i got rid of my ram and ended up going with the crager wheels. just dont feel comfortable with 3" backspacing.
