I keep reading about you guys having you JKs being called Hummers, even those of you with soft tops. I personally don't see the resemblance but I yesterday I had to park on at residential street down the block from where I was going to eat. Coming back from the restaurant I found another Jeep Unlimited (it was black X model w/ full doors and a hard top) parked just behind mine. A nice older fellow was out working in his flower bed and commented that he "Liked the Jeep better".

Confused, I asked him what he meant. He said said that he thought my Jeep looked better than the Hummer behind me. Intrigued, I walk over to his view and compared the 2 vehicles while I politely explained that they were both in fact Jeeps and pointed out the minor differences. He immediately saw that they were the same but I also noted the differences that threw him off.

I'm loving the Rescue Green w/ half doors even more.

That's why I sold my hard top! I was getting tired of the Hummer remarks! I just forgot that Hummers also came in YELLOW!

 

I was torn between the Unlimited and the 2 door. Though dealing with a few morons that make the "hummer" comment is not all that difficult, I have to say that it's something that I'm glad we 2 door owners just don't have to deal with.

 

When someone calls it a Hummer you just calmly say to him, no..... this is a Jeep, If I had wanted a hummer, I would have called your mom !

 

I have to say, I've never had a problem confusing one vehicle for another. I never even confused Trans Am's for Camaro's. You look at it, and you see what it is, that's it. It's basic recognition logic to me. If someone calls a Jeep Unlimited a Hummer, I'm sorry, but that's just a stupid person.

 

Gentlemen.......everyone is not "us".......just because they don't know the difference between a hummer and a jeep.......it doesn't make them stupid. A dog person might find some of us stupid for not knowing the differnece between a rat terrier or a jack russell terrier (both are small yippie creatures, I only learned due to my kids getting one...my Akita wants to eat it).............or in my life, some people are sheep, some are sheep dogs and others are wolves. I don't think the sheep are stupid........I just think they need to be "educated" from time to time.

My mother.....who well, trust me is smarter than most.......said to me "that reminds me of a hummer"......I laughed it off and explained the difference.......once again..........be kind to sheep. If we were all sheep dogs or wolves..........then the demand would be so high for jeeps.......most of us wouldn't be able to afford them!!!
