Death Wobble
I have read a few stories about the DW and I wasnt sure what anyone was talking about until the other day when i was going about 50mph and ran over a set of train tracks and thought the jeep was going to fall apart, after i came to a stop the jeep acted normal. I drove to a jeep dealership that was 2 miles down the road and told the service guy and he said he would have a tech look at the wheels and said that everything is fine. 2 questions
1. Is there any particular area i should look under the jeep to see if there is damage
2. Would this be covered under warranty, I bought the jeep 5 months ago and have not done any mods yet?

please give us some specs on your jeep. what kind of mods do you have on it if any. as mentioned, DW is almost always a problem associated with your track bar. either the mounts are failing, bushings are worn or the bolts are not tightend to spec.
also, do a search in the modified forum as there are TONS of threads regarding DW. here is one of the most recent ones:

Sorry to hear about your DW. I had one on my lifted 95 GMC 2500. In my case it ended up being a bad Pitman arm (of course it was one of the last things we looked at).
Do a search of this forum...there are tons of good theories and fixes on the subject.
Good luck.

my wifes 05 rubicon did the same things.......found out that one of the front wheels lost a weight used for balancing the wheel. also, the dealer blamed the dw on low tire tread and low tire pressure....
