Deer vs. JK - JK wins!
I had a funny experience this morning... after 30 years of driving, my first experience with 'contacting a deer' (I won't say "hitting", as he hit me!)
I was proceeding down a dark 2-lane at ~45 MPH when Buck (well, I call him Buck) appeared on the right side of the road. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was going to make a run for it (in front of me...). If I were to brake, I'd take him with the front half of the Jeep (2 dr JK); if I swerved left and accelerated, I figured he's be into the soft top/rear wheel... I swerved/ accelerated and likely saved Buck's life! he bounced off the side of my right rear fender flare & bumper - no damage save for a couple of loose fasteners and a rub mark on the fender flare; Buck shook it off and kept running.
Yes it was stupid to gas it, and I should have been looking further down the road and avoided it all in the first place, but there was no broken glass, dented sheet metal or broken deer. I sure like my Jeep!

Those little cats sized things you easterners call deer are pretty tasty. Get a mule deer smacking the side of your Jeep and you would be replacing things. Better off to give it the front bumper and fill up that empty space in the freezer.
