degreaser on windshield... need help!
I was washing the jeep and using degreaser and it dripped all down the windshield and the sun baked it on. Now there are these streaks that seem to be permanent. I've used degreaser itself to get it off, gasoline, vinegar, rubbing compound, windex you name it. Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks,
Adam

last ditch resort is an old GM favorite (they actually made a part #) Bon Ami made into a paste with water. scrub the glass dry and rinse off. keeps the wipers from streaking and chattering too.
why the hell were you using degreaser anyway?

Try a product called Invisible Glass. Get the one that comes in a can not the spray bottle. It is a different formula... Spray on and let soak for a few unless you are in direct sunlight or the windshield is hot, then park in the shade and let the window cool and then spray and let soak. If done right it should foam up and wipe clean. Glass, though smooth is still quite course. What has happened if I am right by reading yer post is the de-greaser has gotten "into" the glass causing it to seem like it is not removable. Give the product a shot. Worse thing that can happen is you have a good window cleaner. I used it to get that damn back to black off mine. I used it on my hood wranglers and then drove like an idiot. it all got on the windshield and caused a similar issue. The Invisible Glass got it off. Took me a couple of tries before I realized to let it soak. Use a good cloth too or some shop towels to help absorb it. Good luck!!! Let me know if this helps????
Although Invisible Glass is a great product, made right here in Quaryville and I use it all the time, I don't know if it's gonna do the job in this case. Give it a try though, and let us know if it works. If it doesn't though, my bet would be on something like MEK or acetone. If either of those don't work, I'd try maybe a dishwashing scrubber with a mixture of baking soda and water made into a paste.
If you do go the MEK or acetone route, be very careful not to get the stuff on youre paint of any plastic. It will eat the paint and desolve the plastic.
Good luck.

First of all you need to look what type of degreaser you used. Many of them are alkaline based and if that's the case if mixed with chlorine based or amonia based solvent will produce toxic fumes. Never mix chemicals.
If it is alkaline based only thing that will wash it is pure water, and lots of it. Most likely you will have permanent damage on paint if it got on paint. little tip....cold water will wash it better then hot water. Usually it's the other way around.
